Driving from Kolkata to Puri
Puri is a journey Bengali families have been making for generations. Doing it by road rather than rail gives you something the train never can — the freedom to stop at Chandipur, to spend an unhurried afternoon at Konark, and to reach the temple on your own schedule instead of the railway's.
It is a genuine long haul at roughly 500 km, and we are honest about that: expect nine to ten hours behind the wheel with proper breaks. Most guests break the journey with a night at Balasore or push straight through, arriving in Puri by evening. Both work, and we will plan whichever suits you.

How many days do I need for a Kolkata to Puri trip?
Three days and two nights is the comfortable minimum — one day to travel down, a full day for the temple and Konark, and one day to return. Four days lets you add Chilika Lake without rushing.
Is the car allowed near the Jagannath Temple?
Vehicles cannot approach the temple entrance itself. Your driver will drop you at the nearest permitted point, a short walk away, and wait there for you.
Can we cover Konark and Chilika in the same booking?
Yes. Both are standard additions to this route. Konark is on the way between Puri and Bhubaneswar, and Chilika is roughly two hours from Puri. Mention them when booking so we quote the extra kilometres upfront.
