Booking

How do I book a cab with Brahmdev Cab Services?

Call us on +91 98313 72515, message us on WhatsApp, or fill in the booking form on this website. Tell us the destination, dates and number of passengers, and we will send a written all-inclusive fare — usually within ten minutes.

Do I need to pay in advance?

No. There is no advance payment to get a quote, and for most bookings none to confirm either. You pay at the end of the trip. For multi-day tours, weddings and Tempo Traveller group bookings we do take a deposit to hold the vehicle.

How far in advance should I book?

For a regular city or airport trip, two to three hours is usually enough. For outstation routes, a day or two gives us the best driver and vehicle match. For hill routes, wedding season dates and the Durga Puja or New Year period, book several weeks ahead — those genuinely do run out.

Can I book a cab for someone else?

Yes, and we do it constantly — people booking for parents, for visiting relatives, for clients arriving at the airport. Give us the traveller's name and number and we will coordinate directly with them.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes. Cancellation is free up to 12 hours before pickup. Changes to timing, vehicle or route are usually no problem at all — just call us as early as you can so we can rearrange.

Fares & payment

How are outstation fares calculated?

On total kilometres run, garage to garage, at the per-kilometre rate for your chosen vehicle, plus a driver allowance for each night away. A minimum of 250 km per day applies. Round trips are billed on the full distance both ways; one-way drops at roughly 1.3× the one-way distance.

Why is a one-way drop not exactly half the round trip fare?

Because the vehicle still has to drive back to Kolkata, just without you in it. We bill approximately 1.3× the one-way distance rather than the full 2×, which means you are only paying for part of the empty return run.

Are tolls and parking included?

No — tolls, state border permits, entry taxes and parking are charged at actual with receipts provided. We tell you the expected amount when we quote so there is no surprise. Fuel, driver charges and vehicle sanitisation are all included.

What is the driver night allowance?

It covers the driver's food and accommodation on trips requiring an overnight stay outside Kolkata. It ranges from ₹300 to ₹600 per night depending on the vehicle, and is always stated separately in the quote.

How can I pay?

Cash, UPI, or bank transfer. Corporate accounts are invoiced monthly with GST against a purchase order if your process requires one.

Do you charge extra at night or during festivals?

Our published per-kilometre rates do not change. A driver night charge applies for driving between 11 PM and 6 AM, which is stated upfront. We do not apply surge pricing to a fare we have already quoted.

Vehicles & drivers

Are your drivers verified?

Yes. Every driver is police-verified, holds a valid commercial licence and wears a uniform. Drivers on hill routes are specifically selected for mountain-road experience.

Will I get the driver's details before the trip?

Yes. The day before travel we send you the driver's name, mobile number and the vehicle registration number, so you can contact them directly.

Can I get two drivers for a long journey?

Yes, and for very long routes such as Kolkata to Guwahati we recommend it. There is an additional charge, which we quote upfront. We would rather you paid for a second driver than travelled with a tired one.

Is the vehicle cleaned between trips?

Every vehicle is cleaned and sanitised before each and every trip, not just at the start of the day.

Can I choose a specific car model?

You can state a preference and we will try, but we guarantee the vehicle class rather than the exact model. Book a sedan and you will get a Dzire, Etios or Amaze — whichever is in the best condition and available on your date.

Outstation & hill routes

Do you need permits to enter other states?

Our vehicles carry All India Tourist Permits, so crossing into Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Assam is not a problem. State entry taxes and permit fees are charged at actual. For Sikkim's restricted areas such as Tsomgo Lake and Nathu La, separate tourist permits are required and we help arrange them.

Can my Kolkata cab drive up to Tsomgo Lake or Nathu La?

No, and this surprises many travellers. Only Sikkim-registered vehicles with local permits may travel beyond Gangtok to those points. We arrange a local permitted vehicle for that day while your main car waits in Gangtok.

Is it safe to drive to the hills during the monsoon?

The Teesta valley road to Gangtok and the climb to Darjeeling are both landslide-prone between June and September. We will always tell you honestly what current conditions are rather than take a booking we are not confident about.

How many days do I need for Darjeeling or Gangtok from Kolkata?

Five days minimum — two travelling and three there. We strongly recommend breaking the journey with an overnight halt at Siliguri rather than attempting the full run in one day.

Can you plan a multi-destination itinerary?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Tell us everywhere you want to go and roughly how long you have, and we will plan the route, the stops, the distances and the total cost as a single package.

Airport & local

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing, from your side. We track your flight and adjust the pickup automatically. There is no charge for delay-related waiting, and you get 60 minutes of free waiting from the moment you land regardless.

Can you meet me inside the airport?

Yes. We offer meet-and-greet at the arrivals gate with a name board at no extra charge. Just request it when booking — it is worth doing if you are receiving elderly parents or guests unfamiliar with Kolkata.

What does the local 8hr/80km package include?

Eight hours and eighty kilometres of use within Kolkata, counted from when the car reaches you to when you release it, including fuel and the chauffeur. Extra kilometres from ₹16 and extra hours from ₹200, at rates fixed before the day starts.

Do you offer self-drive car rental?

No. We are a chauffeur-driven service only. Every booking includes a professional driver — which in Kolkata traffic most guests find is rather the point.

Still have a question?

Call +91 98313 72515 and ask. We would far rather answer it now than have you find out something unexpected halfway to Darjeeling.
